I have to be honest.
When I first heard the new about Instagram changing to a algorithm style instead of their chronological order we have came to know and love, I wanted to cry.
Yep, I'm talking it was time to go and bury myself in a blanket fort with Ben and Jerrys while binge watching Netflix.
But then, I check Facebook and the petitions start popping up against them changing it, and quickly I realized how silly I was. Okay before you're wondering what in the world I'm talking about, hear me out.
Instagram is a BUSINESS.
There are employees who run Instagram, same as any other website.
Want to know what a business likes to do?
Make money. See where I'm going with this?
All business owners have been able to utilize Instagram for free, which is pretty rad, but the platform is HUGE now! It wasn't that long ago that Instagram rolled out add, so now it's time for owners to implement it! Here's another example.
Pelicans, a snowball place (if you don't know what I'm talking about, google them. It's basically like a snow cone, but oh so better!), raises their prices every year. maybe because it's of a demand issues or their costs of goods, I don't know, but hey I love what they serve so I continue to buy the yummy goodness!
Okay one more example for the photographers....
After years of shoot and burn, we decide our next step is to start In Person Sales (yay!). All of a sudden, a client from a year ago pops up, wants to book a session, and starts hanging flyers around saying how expensive we are for just clicking a shutter button! What?! Now, that's something that we would cry about.
Instagram is just trying to take themselves to the next step. Simple as that. Let's just go with the flow ✌🏻️
P.S. Snapchat is still in chronological order. We all know that's where the party is really at!!
